§ 19-1. City datum.

  • (a)

    All grades established by the city or which are fixed or referred to in this Code shall be measured from a datum which is 100 feet below the standard benchmark which is a brass bolt 13/16 inch in diameter, set in the east wall of the county courthouse one foot north of the southeast corner of the courthouse, which bolt extends out from the wall one-fourth inch and has an offset or notch out in it one-fourth inch in depth, which notch is 651.20 feet above sea level.

    (b)

    All grades of sidewalks, sewers and pavements for the city which have been constructed or may be constructed shall refer to the datum established in this section.
