§ 3-56. Local liquor control commissioner.

  • The mayor is hereby designated as the local liquor control commissioner and shall have all powers granted to the local liquor control commissioner under this chapter and applicable statutes of the state. In addition to the specific powers and authority granted in this chapter, the local liquor control commissioner may adopt and enforce reasonable regulations with respect to the sale of alcoholic liquor in the city as he shall determine to be necessary and desirable to preserve and protect the public welfare and to ensure compliance with the provisions of this chapter and of the statutes and regulations of the state pertaining to the sale of alcoholic liquors.
