§ 3-34. Term; proration of fee.

  • All licenses other than temporary licenses granted under this article shall be for semi-annual periods commencing October 1 and ending March 31 of the following year, or commencing April 1 and ending September 30 of the same year; provided, however, that at the election of the applicant, the applicant may choose to apply for an annual license for the fiscal year commencing October 1 and ending September 30 of the following year. In any event, a license issued on a semi-annual basis shall be issued for a period commencing with the effective date of the license and ending on the March 31 or September 30 next following the issuance of the license, as applicable, or if the license is issued on an annual basis, the license shall be issued for the period commencing with the effective date of the license and ending on the September 30 of the following year. If the period of the license is less than six full months in the event of a semi-annual license, or is less than one full year in the event of an annual license, the semi-annual or annual license fee shall be prorated by multiplying the applicable semi-annual or annual license fee by a fraction having as its numerator the number of full or partial months the license is to be in effect and having six in the case of semi-annual license or 12 in the case of an annual license as its denominator.
