§ 18-31. Police pension fund.

  • (a)

    Establishment. There shall be a police pension fund established in the city as provided by article 3 of the Illinois Pension Code (40 ILCS 5/3-101 et seq.).

    (b)

    Board of trustees. The board of trustees of the fund shall consist of five members, two appointed by the mayor, two elected by the members of the police department and one elected by the beneficiaries of the pension fund. The election shall be held on the third Monday in April in the manner and for the terms prescribed by the Illinois Pension Code, article 3 (40 ILCS 5/3-101 et seq.). The pension board shall meet at least quarterly as provided by law, and shall hold such additional meetings as may be called by the president of the pension board.
